Note that this manoeuvre is not possible in most modern jet fighters, except in a/c with horizontal thrust vectoring capabilities.
STALL TURN CHECKLIST
- PERFORM HASELL CHECKS
- ESTABLISH HEADING AND ALTITUDE
- ESTABLISH SPEED AT STALL SPEED PLUS 50 KTS
- PITCH UP 80 DEGREES
Airspeed will drop rapidly, as it nears stall speed: - APPLY FULL LEFT (OR RIGHT) RUDDER
Aircraft will yaw left (or right) - CHECK LATERAL CONTROL
Do not allow a roll to develop - CHECK HEADING
Should be 180 deg off the original heading - THROTTLE UP
- RECOVER FROM DIVE
Pull out at 3 g's - NOTE ALTITUDE
